Hyped from watching the Paris 2024 Olympics and excited to watch the LA 2028 Olympics IN LOS ANGELES?

I got you covered. I attended the Rio 2016 and Paris 2024 Olympic games, so I have over 10 years of experience in securing my tickets for the games.

Unfortunately, we can’t buy the tickets just yet since the Paris Olympics just ended, but here’s my quick tips on how you can be the first to know when the LA 2028 tickets go on sale.

Create an OIympics ID

Go to the official Olympics website and create your account. This will be connected to all the information about anything that is Olympics related, but also this is how your tickets will be associated with your account.

Create your Olympics ID or account

The website has great information about the games, history, athletes, and more. But more importantly, don’t forget your login information. You’ll definitely need to remember it for the next 3 years.

Sign up for the LA 2028 Newsletter

Yes, specifically sign-up for the LA 2028 newsletter because you will get alerted through this newsletter first before you’ll see it in your social media feed.

You may forget about it, but they will start informing you about the ticket draw at least a year before the next games start. I will explain the ticket draw in another post, but for now, sign-up and don’t unsubscribe.

Notice the dates on this email for Paris 2024? They started alerting me about the ticket draw in Dec 2022, at least a year and half before the summer. I wasn't even sure if I wanted to go to Paris when I received this email, but I signed up anyway.

Make sure you have the funds and your credit cards ready by then to purchase all the games and events you want to see!

Follow the LA 2028 social media accounts

In case you miss the email, they will, of course, share posts on their socials. I mean, the LA2028 Instagram account has been going full-speed in promoting it and we still got 4 years to go!

Tip: Create an event with the Olympics dates in your calendar

I'm not even joking, but mark those dates in your digital calendar right now! You'll be glad you've created an event for those dates because once 2027 and 2028 start to creep in, you'll at least see it when you start making your future summer plans and avoid any conflicts.

The Olympics will be on July 14 - July 30, 2028.

The Paralympics will be on August 22 - September 8, 2028.

Bonus: Join the CoSport newsletter

Back in 2012 when I had to dig deep and scour the internet on how to buy tickets, CoSport is where I originally purchased my Olympics games tickets when I attended the Rio 2016 games.

From my understanding, CoSport is not the main source for tickets anymore, but they will offer some great hospitality packages for the Olympic games. They also handle other world sport events like golf and soccer, so if you’re interested in watching other sporting events, this is a great site to do that!

And now we wait for the next 3 years

3 years is a long time, but trust me, it’s going to be worth it. Especially with the games going to be on American soil, it will be an exciting Los Angeles experience for EVERYONE around the world.

Good luck, Olympic fan!
